San Mateo County Issues RFP for Telematics
San Mateo County in California issued a request for proposal (RFP) for an automated fleet monitoring system. With the system, the County hopes to reduce the cost of managing and maintaining the fleet, optimize fleet use, and “right-size” the fleet.
The San Mateo County Department of Public Works in California issued a request for proposal (RFP) for an automated fleet monitoring system. The County hopes to obtain telematics data including vehicle location, odometer readings, miles driven, time and frequency of use, and driver habits; the system must be able to provide customized reports with this data. With a telematics system, the County hopes to reduce the cost of managing and maintaining the fleet, optimize fleet use, and “right-size” the fleet.
The County released its RFP on Sept. 13. The proposal deadline is Oct. 4, with a tentative contract start date of Jan. 28, 2014. Click here to view the full RFP. Contact Joe LoCoco, deputy director of Roads Services, with any questions regarding the RFP by Sept. 20.
