FITCHBURG, MA - The State of New York Office of General Services (OGS) has deployed Chevin Fleet Solutions' FleetWave to gain control over fleet operating costs.
The State of New York Office of General Services chose the web-based fleet management information system to manage the acquisition and management of its diverse fleet of more than 27,000 vehicles. The OGS is mandated by the State legislature to provide vehicles and related services to New York agencies, authorities, and universities across the State, and provide comprehensive services that include:
Vehicle procurement.
Acquisition of alternative-fuel vehicles.
Alternative fuel management.
NY State fuel card program and services.
Insurance, risk, and accident management services.
State-wide communications for all fleet-related policies and procedures are tracked and consolidated on a monthly basis, streamlining labor-intensive process, according to Chevin.
Through the use of potent technologies such as automated VIN Decoding and integration to external maintenance providers as well as conventional and alternative fuel providers, OGS has improved fleet data accuracy and finally has a harmonized view of complete operational details across the State.
