The Nebraska State Patrol claimed the top spot in this year’s Best Looking Cruiser contest, an annual contest voted on by the public and organized by the American Association of State Troopers (AAST).
The winning photo was taken by Nebraska State Trooper Clint Zost last May, depicting his Dodge Charger Pursuit parked near a tornado. Trooper Zost took the photo while reporting the incident to emergency managers.
“We’d just like to say thank you to everyone who voted for NSP in this year’s contest,” said Colonel John Bolduc, superintendent of the Nebraska State Patrol, in a statement. “Trooper Zost’s epic photo of his cruiser with a tornado in the background captured attention around the nation, but it also demonstrates that troopers are out in the elements, working to protect the public even when severe weather strikes.”
The top 12 winners will be featured in AAST’s 2020 Cruiser Calendar; Nebraska’s patrol car will be featured on the cover. This is the first time Nebraska has made the AAST Cruiser Calendar.
Proceeds from the Cruiser Calendar help fund the AAST’s efforts to support the families of state troopers.
