The Stantonsburg (N.C.) Police Department has completed its emergency evacuation fleet, with a 2.5-ton medium tactical vehicle, a Humvee, and a mobile generator, Police Chief Orlando Rosario announced on Facebook.
Rosario announced the acquisition of the Humvee last month. The MY-1995 military vehicle has 7,000 miles on it and is listed for $63,000. The town got it for free from a federal military surplus program, according to The Wilson Times. Rosario said the vehicle would be used to “protect and serve our community and reach those that are stranded during inclement weather.”
