Mitchell has been in the fleet industry for 45 years, managing public fleets for 36 years and private fleets for nine years. Major accomplishments during his career include building/remodeling four maintenance facilities at Snohomish County, Wash., and Arlington County, Va.; consolidating staff from four facilities into three facilities; and serving on the boards of various groups including the Puget Sound Public Fleet Managers group, Puget Sound Clean Cities, and NAFA chapters. He was elected to the Government Fleet Hall of Fame in 2015.
Mitchell retired from Arlington County as its equipment bureau chief in 2013.
