MINNEAPOLIS – The new ‘Stop on Red’ cameras in Minneapolis are not only catching citizens running red lights, they are also catching city vehicles — including police officers — running red lights. In the first 30 days, cameras caught 16 city vehicles running red lights, the city of Minneapolis reported. That number includes 14 police cars, a fire vehicle, and an animal-control vehicle. All together, the cameras caught 4,400 people running red lights. The city said none of its employees should be above the law and that it is in the process of tightening its policies regarding employees following the driving laws.
