Michigan State Police to Test 2015-MY Vehicles
The Michigan State Police's Precision Driving Unit will test 22 2015 model-year vehicles, including 10 sedans, eight motorcycles, and four SUVs.

The Michigan State Police's Precision Driving Unit will test 22 2015 model-year vehicles, including 10 sedans, eight motorcycles, and four SUVs.
Most of the vehicles carry over from the 2014 model year. The driving unit is testing several new models, including the battery-electric Zero DS ZF11.4 motorcycle, four-wheel-drive pursuit-rated Chevrolet Tahoe PPV, refreshed Dodge Charger Pursuit (four models), and Harley-Davidson's FLHTP Electra Glide with a performance kit.
State troopers will test the AWD 3.7L Ford Police Interceptor sedan; V-6 Chevrolet Caprice PPV; V-6 Charger Pursuit; FWD 3.5L Ford P.I. sedan; Chevrolet Impala Limited; AWD V-8 Charger Pursuit; AWD EcoBoost Ford P.I. sedan; V-8 Caprice PPV; AWD EcoBoost Ford P.I. Utility; V-8 Charger Pursuit; RWD Tahoe PPV; AWD 3.7L Ford P.I. Utility; V-6 Charger Pursuit; and 4WD Tahoe PPV.
The agency will also test eight motorcycles, including the BMW R1200RT-P; BMW F800GTP; Moto Guzzi Norge; Harley Davidson FLHP (Road King); Harley Davidson FLHTP (Electra Glide); Moto Guzzi California 1400; H-D FLHTP Electra Special; and Zero DSP.
The acceleration, top speed, and brake testing for patrol cars and motorcycles has been scheduled for Sept. 20 at the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea, Mich. The vehicle dynamics testing is scheduled for Sept. 22 at the Grattan Raceway in Grattan. Police motorycle brake testing is set for Sept. 16. Motorcycle handling tests have been set for Sept. 17.
