Louisiana State Police (LSP) just unveiled its newest recruiting tool: the heritage unit. The Dodge Charger was refurbished from the department's existing fleet to be used for both recruitment and at community events across the state to share the department's history.
The vehicle was unveiled in the department's latest recruiting video on its YouTube page.
About the Design
The color scheme and decals are designed after the department's 1989 patrol units, which were navy blue, matching the LSP uniform. Two gold stripes were placed at the side of the unit, symbolizing highway centerlines.
The unit is fully equipped with lights, sirens, and a transport cage.

Since Dodge is discontinuing its Charger model, the department is phasing out the vehicles over time. This vehicle was transferred to the department's Public Affairs/Recruiting section before it reached the end of its lifecycle, to be used for recruitment. It was originally painted white with red and blue graphics, like the rest of the department's patrol fleet.
