Knoxville Fleet Services Director Fired; Deputy Resigns
KNOXVILLE, TN - The two fleet services employees, one of whom was fired and the other asked to resign, had been suspended back in February for sending and receiving sexually explicit pictures of women on their city computers.
KNOXVILLE, TN - The City of Knoxville recently lost two fleet employees - one fired and the other asked to resign, according to the Knoxville News Sentinel.
Mark Kolander, director of Fleet Services, was verbally terminated March 26 by Sam Anderson, director of Operations and Efficiency, said Randy Kenner, city spokesman, as reported by the News Sentinel.
Steve Beauman, deputy director of Fleet Services, was asked to resign by Anderson, Kenner said.
The actions were effective immediately, said Kenner.
Anderson suspended Kolander and Beauman back in February for two weeks without pay for violating the city's computer-use policies by allegedly sending and receiving sexually explicit pictures of women on their city computers.
