Jennifer Brown, MSL, has been named Facilities and Fleet Section Director for the city of Flagstaff, Arizona, effective Feb. 20, 2024. Brown has worked for Coconino County Public Works as the Fleet Services Supervisor since 2021.
In addition to overseeing the city's fleet operations, Brown will also lead facility maintenance operations.
From Police Operations to Fleet Management
Brown's career began outside of fleet. In 1995, she joined the Flagstaff Police Department as a part-time high school student employee in the records division. Over the years, she worked for various divisions within the police department, including communications and evidence.
While working in the evidence division, Brown assisted other divisions to alleviate short staffing, allowing her to understand all parts of the civilian side of the house. During this time, Brown was promoted as the Support Services Supervisor, which allowed her to pursue her passion with police fleet.
She was then promoted a year later to the Support Services Manager position in 2013. Among her accomplishments during this time was the transition from the department's Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors to the Ford Police Interceptor Utilities.
Brown assisted with the implementation of body-worn cameras and the agency policy for the cameras. She also serves on the Ford Police Advisory Board, and is a member of Government Fleet's Police Fleet Advisory Board.
