BOISE, IDAHO - Idaho Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter on Dec. 20 signed an executive order aimed at improving the fuel efficiency of the state's fleet of vehicles.
According to BusinessWeek, the new order directs all executive branch departments, agencies and offices to attempt to decrease gasoline and diesel fuel consumption by using more fuel-efficient vehicles, boosting operating efficiency, and curbing the amount of miles logged annually by employees. State agencies are required to show a clear business need before purchasing any four-wheel drive vehicles or SUVs.
