WASHINGTON – The General Services Administration revised a rule (recorded in the federal register) that allows federal agencies to rent vehicles.
The new rule increases the rental timeframe to less than 120 continuous days (the previous maximum timeframe for a rental was less than 60 days) before having to lease a vehicle. This change requires an agency to have a business reason for the rental.
In addition, the rule adjusts the definition of a commercial lease so agencies that need to rent a vehicle for longer than 60 days but less than a year can do so.
