NEW YORK – The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is soon expected to propose requiring that all vehicles have electronic stability control (ESC) systems, which use brakes and engine power to keep a car from veering out of a driver’s control.
To help stations and networks cover this important announcement, Continental Automotive Systems, a supplier of automotive safety technologies and one of the first companies to make ESC available to the mass markets, is offering a news package via satellite with material on the technology that plays an instrumental role in this story. It will include B-roll of vehicles operating with and without ESC, and sound bites with industry experts on the technology and what it means to consumers.
