General Motors will begin selling its Chevrolet Spark EV in Maryland in the spring.
The Spark EV will retail for $17,845, after federal and Maryland tax credits and features a locally-sourced electric motor and drive unit that's built at GM's Baltimore Operations facility in White Marsh on the outskirts of the city.

The Spark EV gets an EPA-rated 119 mpg equivalent and 82 miles of range.
The vehicle is available with three available levels of recharging capability include the use of the recently approved SAE combo charger for DC fast charging, which charges 80 percent of the battery in just 20 minutes.
Aero refinements, unique wheels and tires and active shutter system on the grille opening help extend the Spark EV's range. The vehicle uses a 19-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and regenerative braking. The Spark EV is available in 1LT and 2LT trim levels.
In 2014, GM sold 1,145 Spark EV hatchbacks in California and Oregon. There were 6,150 Spark cars added to fleets in 2013. The vehicle debuted with the 2013 model year.
