At a recent meeting, Dawson County, Ga., Board of Commissioners voted to revise its take-home vehicle policy for county employees and re-evaluate who needs a take-home vehicle, reports DawsonNews.com.
Currently, the county assigns fleet vehicles to employees who frequently respond to after-hours and weekend emergency calls. Employees must submit documentation to justify a take-home vehicle, and receive approval from the county manager. Sixteen county employees from various departments have been assigned vehicles. Annually, these vehicles cost the county $30,137, not including county business mileage.
