Four Virginia Cities to Test Hybrid Vehicles in Fleets
RICHMOND, VA – Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Portsmouth will be adding hybrid vehicles to their fleets, according to the Virginian-Pilot.
RICHMOND, VA – Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, and Portsmouth will be adding hybrid vehicles to their fleets, according to the Virginian-Pilot. Virginia Beach will buy five hybrid vehicles this year. A $20,000 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid has been ordered by the city of Portsmouth. Norfolk will contract to lease about five hybrid vehicles, as well. Chesapeake has ordered a 2005 Escape Hybrid SUV. The cities will monitor the hybrids to determine how practical they are, and they will be used in support roles in the police force.
