Four Fleet Managers Earn CPFP Credential

KANSAS CITY, MO - Four public sector fleet professionals have recently earned the Certified Public Fleet Professional (CPFP) credential from APWA. A total of 109 fleet professionals have received this certification.

KANSAS CITY, MO - The American Public Works Association (APWA) announced April 12 that four public works fleet professionals have recently earned the Certified Public Fleet Professional (CPFP) credential, according to a release from the association.

The recent CPFPs in April include:

Kevin Bauwens, CPFP, City of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
Joe Castro, CPFP, City of Boulder, Colo.
Dennis M. Falconer, CPFP, City of Boise, Ind.
Joel Taylor, CPFP, City of Montrose, Colo.

The CPFP program is designed to ensure individual competency and provide the public works industry with recognized hiring and promotion standards. It is intended for those fleet professionals who supervise, manage, oversee, or administer fleet services within or for a public fleet entity, according to APWA.

"Over the years, the role of the public fleet operation has evolved from providing high-quality, low-cost repair service, to asset management and related business functions," APWA Executive Director Peter B. King stated. "Since its inception in 2007, a total of 109 U.S. and Canadian fleet professionals have received the CPFP certification."
