Kennedy previously served as fleet operations chief for Manatee County (Fla.) Fleet Services, where he worked for 19 years. Prior to that, he was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

In this role, Kennedy manages a fleet of 1,600 units, a team of 37 staff, and three repair facilities. This first year, he plans to settle in and work on team-building while continuing efforts to break ground on a county shop expansion project.
“I am excited to join this team and utilize the skills I have learned throughout my career for the betterment of Sarasota County Fleet Services,” Kennedy said.
Greg Morris, CEM, fleet manager, will retire Nov. 11. He is helping with transition.
