The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is offering up to $44 million in grant funding under its Diesel Emissions Reductions Act (DERA) grant program. The EPA is soliciting applications for projects that achieve significant reductions in diesel emissions, particularly from fleets operating in areas with poor air quality.
Eligible applicants include regional, state, local or tribal agencies, or port authorities, with jurisdiction over transportation or air quality. Nonprofit organizations or institutions that represent or provide pollution reduction or educational services to persons or organizations that own or operate diesel fleets or have the promotion of transportation or air quality as their principal purpose. The EPA expects to award between 40 to 60 applicants. Examples of past awarded grants can be found here.
