CAMPBELL, CA - Agile Access Control, Inc. announced that Cornell University has selected FleetCommander to optimize the management of the university’s fleet staff and vehicles.
FleetCommander is tracking more than 750 motor pool, permanently-assigned, and department-owned vehicles. The fleet consists of sedans, minivans, vans, pickup trucks, SUVs and Suburbans.
Cornell University Fleet Services provides safe, clean, and reliable transportation to university staff and departments. FleetCommander tools will be employed to streamline maintenance, motor pool, billing, and other fleet management functions.
A pool of two hundred and fifty vehicles serves the needs for short-term and long-term vehicle requests. FleetCommander will enhance the already-high level of customer service provided to motor pool users via the intuitive, web-based fleet tools such as the on-line vehicle request system. Real-time policy enforcement, error-checking & data validation, and informative system-generated emails enhance the fleet experience for end-users and provide volumes of valuable, easy-to-interpret metrics for the fleet staff.
“We’re excited about FleetCommander,” says Cindy Corbett, Cornell’s Fleet Administrator. “We found a solution that rids us of our dependency on an older mainframe computer and reduces the workload associated with our daily fleet activities. In addition, we are gaining a tremendous amount of new fleet-specific automation horsepower to help us manage our fleet.”
Adds Jerene Murray, Cornell University Fleet Services’ Manager, “The FleetCommander system as-is provides great value. We are also extremely pleased with the company’s willingness to accommodate automated interfaces to our other computer systems [accounting] and to grow FleetCommander to meet our needs.”
Nearly forty percent of FleetCommander users are in the education segment of the fleet market. “I am very excited about the relationship between Cornell and Agile Access Control, Inc.,” said Ed Smith, Agile’s president. “With each new FleetCommander customer, we gain another valuable partner. Cornell’s fleet staff is very proactive in optimizing fleet operations and they are already providing input for enhancements that will be invaluable to our FleetCommander software releases this year. All of our customers will benefit as a result of the creative input from Cornell.”
