Code 3 plans to incorporate HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud collision prevention service in its products. With HAAS Alert’s connected vehicle technology integrated, Code 3’s lineup of vehicle lighting solutions (including its flagship Matrix system) will be able to send digital alerts to drivers who may come into contact with emergency response vehicles.
The HAAS Alert Safety Cloud sends alerts to connected cars, mobile apps, and autonomous vehicles when they are in close proximity to responding emergency vehicles and other fleet vehicles impacting mobility on the roadways. Alerting drivers ahead of time is expected to increase safety around emergency response vehicles.
“The number of First Responder fatalities and injuries in 2019 due to collisions with other vehicles is alarming and showing no signs of slowing down,” noted Cory Hohs, cofounder and CEO of HAAS Alert in a statement. “We are excited to work with an innovator like Code 3 to bring HAAS Alert's digital alerting safety service to more emergency response and fleet vehicles.”
