Richard Lallier, long-time public works director at the City of St. Paul, Minn., is calling it a career. Lallier plans to retire Nov. 28 after 36 years with the city, reports the Pioneer Press.
Lallier, who started his career as a lifeguard and public works worker, has served as the public works director since 2010. His accomplishments include an upgrade to the public works fleet.
"Public works has lots of different facets to it: It's sewer, street maintenance, design and construction, traffic, fleet," Lallier told the news outlet. "There's a lot of things I haven't learned, but they have a great staff."
