City of Canton Leases Harley-Davidson Police Motorcycles
CANTON, GA - The City of Canton, Ga., Police Department's first motorcycle leases are for two new Harley-Davidson motorcycles.
CANTON, GA - The City of Canton, Ga., is acquiring new Harley-Davidson police motorcycles through a Municipal Lease Program provided by Sparta Commercial Services, Inc., according to a release from the company.
Sgt. Jeff Tucker of the Canton Police Department said, "This was our first experience with leasing our motorcycles." The department began with leasing two units. The release stated the City of Woodstock, Ga., is also leasing Harley-Davidsons through the municipal lease agreement.
The Sparta program allows governmental agencies to lease over a number of years, rather than purchase that equipment, and thereby reduce the strain on their capital budgets, according to the company.
