Calif. City Hires Fleet Manager

Jose Gallardo was named the fleet manager for the City of Concord, Calif., starting his new position Dec. 4, 2017. The previous fleet manager, Jeff Roubal, retired.
As fleet manager, Gallardo is responsible for managing the vehicle and mobile equipment needs of all city departments and divisions. The Concord fleet consists of 270 powered vehicles, four staff members, and one maintenance facility. Vehicles range from police cars to admin vehicles to public works vehicles such as sewer trucks.
Gallardo plans to continue to promote alternative fuels and smart technology.
“I am very honored to take over the leadership of one of the 50 Leading Fleets in the country. Our goal is to become the best in the country by providing unsurpassed customer service and environmentally friendly fleet and operations in the most economical means,” he said.
Gallardo previously worked as the fleet manager for the nearby City of Napa, Calif. He has more than 25 years of experience in fleet management, including for AAA Arizona, Pepsi, and the U.S. Air Force.
