Birmingham Fire and Rescue Orders New Pumper Engines
Birmingham Fire & Rescue Service in Birmingham, Ala., has ordered five Pierce Arrow XT custom pumpers. This is a follow-on order from Birmingham Fire & Rescue, according to Pierce.

Birmingham Fire & Rescue Service in Birmingham, Ala., has ordered five Pierce Arrow XT custom pumpers. The five pumpers are outfitted with a 10-inch raised roof cab, seating for six firefighters, Pierce’s Command Zone electronics and control system, and a 450 hp Detroit DD13 engine.
This is a follow-on order from Birmingham Fire & Rescue, according to Pierce.
For firefighting, the vehicle has a 1,500-gpm single stage pump, a 500-gallon water tank. It also features a 19-inch extended front bumper, apartments with adjustable shelves and slide-out trays, and LED scene lighting on all sides.
Birmingham Fire & Rescue has a total of 29 engines, two quints, two brontos, and 16 rescue units. The department has 648 firefighters responding from 31 fire stations.
