Bednar Joins Thurston County, Wash., as Fleet Manager

OLYMPIA, WA – Peter Bednar, the former fleet and communications manager for the City of Bellevue, Wash., has joined Thurston County, Wash., as its new fleet manager. In his new role he will be responsible for managing fleet operations for the County’s fleet, providing a strategic vision to help make County fleet operations more efficient and cost-effective, and collaborating with County stakeholders.
Bednar takes up the fleet management role from the County’s Richard Weston, who retired in May after more than 23 years with the County.
Bednar worked for the City of Bellevue for more than eight years, where he supervised up to 25 employees. Bellevue’s fleet was recognized by the 100 Best Fleets program as number 28 in 2011 and number 12 in 2012. Bednar has more than 23 years of expertise in management and leadership responsibilities in fleet, facilities, manufacturing and operations management, and quality assurance inspection.
