WASHINGTON, D.C. – The D.C. Department of Public Works (DPW) Fleet Management Administration (FMA) has lost track of more than a dozen vehicles, according to The Washington Times. The FMA maintains the city’s fleet of 3,000 government-owned vehicles. A D.C. Office of the Inspector General audit has also found that the FMA has allowed officials to rack up unauthorized mileage. The audit also confirmed that the FMA also failed to comply with regulations requiring a complete physical inventory and inspection of the city’s fleet of vehicles twice each year. The fleet of vehicles is valued at $83 million, according to the report. Efforts are now underway by the DHS to locate the 13 missing vehicles.
