RICE LAKE, WI – The Barron County Highway Department is testing biodiesel in its fleet vehicles, according to the Web site www.chronotype.com/. The Highway Department started using B-20 biodiesel in two plow trucks and a crew cab pickup in late-February. By March, six plow trucks were operating with B-20.
The Highway Department’s summer plans include using B-50 in two large, four-axel trucks and a crew cab, the report said. The Highway Department will also try B-100 in a small German-made air-cooled diesel roller used for rolling blacktop.
