SAN FRANCISCO – A federal judge in San Francisco has ruled that the Department of Energy (DOE) is violating The Energy Policy Act of 1992, which was designed to increase the country’s use of alternative-fuel vehicles, according to the Associated Press. The ruling said that the DOE ignored a requirement to set long-range goals for converting a percentage of the nation’s cars and light trucks to natural gas, ethanol, hydrogen, and other nonpetroleum fuels.
