FORT WAYNE, IN – Fort Wayne has started to buy hybrid vehicles in an effort to save money and reduce pollution, according to the Associated Press. The purchase of the vehicles is part of an attempt to make the city more environmentally friendly, says Mayor Graham Richard.

The city will also begin converting diesel trucks to biodiesel fuel. The city will save money on fuel and reduce pollution in an effort to help avoid federal limits on ozone, according to Richard. Allen County is already over the amount of ozone pollution, with the possibility of federal sanctions restricting businesses' ability to expand and add jobs.
