BOMAG Delivers with New Combination Roller

The deep penetrating vibration force of the front steel drum, combined with the kneading effect of the pneumatic tires, improves surface smoothness and delivers a better seal on projects such as road repair and road construction finishing, according to the company. Material manipulation provided by the rear tires also makes this a great tool for delivering a better finish for joint construction.

Powered by a 24.8-hp Kubota diesel engine that meets Tier 4 Final emissions standards without a diesel particulate filter, the roller features a 47.2-inch-wide front steel drum plus 4,320-vpm vibration frequency and amplitude of 0.02 inches. An ergonomic control panel layout with clear symbols and one switch/one function operation provides intuitive roller control.

More Uptime & Productivity

The low-maintenance design of the BW 120 SLC-5 helps increase uptime and jobsite productivity, according to the company.

No grease-daily points also reduce daily maintenance and labor costs. Its wide opening hood provides quick access to the engine compartment, centralized electronics, and water pump, simplifying service. Quick-disconnect spray nozzles on the front drum and tires plus a central tank water drain allow service technicians to quickly maintain the water system. The roller’s centralized lifting point delivers quick loading/unloading on a trailer, while its foldable rollover protection structure (ROPS) reduces roller transport height.

The new BW 120 SLC-5 combination roller’s durable center articulation joint provides +/-10-degree oscillation to keep the drum and wheels in contact with material at all times. Its maintenance-free design helps to eliminate grease points, and bolt-on construction simplifies removal to significantly lower long-term owning and operating costs, according to the company.
