The Oregon State Police is using two new drones to investigate crash scenes, reducing the amount of time needed to reconstruct the scene and allowing officers to open up roads hours earlier than in the past, according to the Corvallis Advocate. The drones take pictures from overhead, preventing the need for officers to do so and keeping them away from oncoming traffic.
The drones were funded through the U.S. Department of Transportation, and OSP hopes to add 10 more to the fleet, KATU reported.
