Public Fleet Hall of Fame Inductees Named

Three industry veterans have been selected for induction into the Public Fleet Hall of Fame, as voted on by members of the industry via online ballot.

Three public fleet professionals have been chosen for induction into Government Fleet’s Public Fleet Hall of Fame, sponsored by Sourcewell. New inductees are selected by industry professionals via online ballot.

Honorees are recognized industry leaders and pioneers who have significantly contributed to the public fleet profession. To be eligible, they must have at least 20 years of experience in the industry, 10 of which must be spent working for a public fleet or a private company contracted to manage a public fleet. Ten inductees formed the inaugural group of Hall of Famers in 2014, followed by eight in 2015six in 2016, four in 2017, and three in 2018. This year and in every subsequent year, three inductees will be named.

This year’s inductees in the Public Fleet Hall of Fame are:

  • Tim Calhoun, CAFM, fleet director, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, Fla.
    Approximate Years in Fleet: 30

  • Al Curtis, fleet services director, Cobb County, Ga.
    Approximate Years in Fleet: 27

  • Ron Kennedy, CEM, CPFP, fleet manager, Sarasota County, Fla.
    Approximate Years in Fleet: 25

Recipients of this award will be recognized during the Honors Celebration at the Government Fleet Expo & Conference (GFX), which takes place June 17-20 in New Orleans. In addition, one exceptional fleet professional who is a member of the Public Fleet Hall of Fame (current or new inductee) will receive the Legendary Lifetime Achievement Award.
