A Bergen County (N.J.) technical school class helped convert a donated Humvee to make it street legal for the Hackensack (N.J.) Police Department fleet. Students painted the vehicle as part of their school project, the Cresskill-Closter Daily Voice reported.

This is the police department’s third Humvee from the federal Law Enforcement Support Office’s military surplus program. The vehicles are used for high-water rescues — which are more common with the increased rainfall this year — as well as to respond on steep hills during snow emergencies.
