Clay County (Ind.) Sheriff's deputies in Indiana will run through a simulator as part of the department's driver training, reported the Brazil Times.

The simulator allows users to experience virtual driving scenarios with customizable elements such as weather and time of day. The training scenarios that deputies will test include traffic stops, pursuits, emergency responses, J-turns, and skip pad training.

The training is part of an effort to reduce accidents, injuries, and potential lawsuits, and is funded through the county's insurance carrier.
