The City of Waterloo, Iowa, is debating whether it should sell advertising on fleet vehicles such as police cars, fire trucks, and garbage trucks, The Courier reported.

Councilman Ron Welper is promoting the plan and projects it could generate $100,000 annually for the city budget. The police chief is against the idea, saying that it lessens the image of professionalism.

City council has yet to take action on the program.
