A look at recent developments in fleet management focusing on industry milestones. Recent highlights include significant client savings reported from software-driven operational efficiencies, as well as the introduction of new tools to automate workflows and enhance resource tracking.

RTA Surpasses $240 Million in Client Savings Since 2017

RTA: The Fleet Success Company announced it was able to save clients over $240 million since 2017, exceeding its original company-wide goal of $100 million in client savings.

The savings metrics reported by RTA stem from a time and cost analysis conducted from 2017 to 2024 across its entire customer base. The study evaluated operational improvements enabled by RTA, such as paperless workflows, automated maintenance processes and optimized parts and fuel management. Using time studies and wage data, RTA quantified real-world efficiencies, including labor hour reductions and cost savings, to determine the financial and productivity impact.

The client savings measured by the use of RTA’s software are rooted in four areas:

  • Shop Management (64%) – Primarily driven by paperless operations.

  • Parts Management (18%) – Efficient inventory tracking and usage.

  • Warranty Management (12%) – Maximizing warranty recovery opportunities.

  • Fuel Management (6%) – Enhanced tracking and cost control.

Across all industries, RTA reported its software and consulting services deliver an average savings of $90,000 per customer annually from the efficiencies gained. The company reported that government fleets saved an average of $92,000 per customer or $137.41 per asset as well as 3,787 hours saved, and 12,000 sheets of paper saved.

Fleetio Surpasses Milestone of 1 Million Vehicles

Fleetio surpassed one million vehicles managed in its fleet optimization platform. Fleetio also launched new enhancements to its software solution in the second half of the year:

  • Fleetio Go in Spanish improves fleet communication for Spanish-speaking fleets to more effectively manage maintenance workloads.

  • Service Program Automation simplifies the creation of complex service schedules based on odometer readings, engine hours or calendar dates.

  • Part Warranties allow users to track and flag warrantable parts in work orders, ensuring proper identification and follow-up.

  • Fleetio Pay Debit provides fleets with another method to pay for repairs within Fleetio’s Maintenance Shop Network using a proprietary Visa debit card integrated directly with the Fleetio Go mobile app.

  • Repair Order Notifications and Shop Network Statuses enhance Fleetio’s Shop Network experience through new notification options and real-time repair shop availability.
