Sara Burnam, MSL, CAFM, fleet management director for Palm Beach County, Florida, was named the 2023 Public Sector Fleet Manager of the Year during the Honors Celebration at the 2023 Government Fleet Expo & Conference in Dallas. The award was presented by Bill Collins of Element Fleet Management, the award sponsor.

"This is not about me, it's about my team. This is wonderful industry to work in and in Florida, we have a great group of fleet managers that can depend on each other.  [Without] them and our friendships that we've built, I wouldn't be standing here today," Burnam told GFX attendees during her acceptance speech.

A panel of judges consisting of fleet managers from around the country reviewed each candidate in categories that included: business plan, technology implementation, productivity, policies, preventive maintenance program, utilization management, replacement program, customer service, fuel management, and safety. Burnam was up against two other finalists for this award.
