The orders include:
- U.S. Department of Homeland Security, 32 units;
- New York City, 71 units;
- U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs, 140 units;
- and TechFlow Inc., the company supporting tech purchases in government sectors such as the U.S. Army, 367 units.

Department of Homeland Security to Deploy Charging Stations Across U.S.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) ordered 32 Beam EV ARC off-grid charging systems and 3 ARC Mobility trailers for efficient system transport. The systems will be deployed across 8 locations for Customs Border Patrol (CBP), Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The purchase was made through a General Services Administration (GSA) contract.
DHS recently debuted its first electric vehicle (EV), a Ford Mustang Mach-E, at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers’ Office of Cheltenham Operation in Maryland. The agency plans to deploy more EVs across its varied law enforcement missions throughout the homeland. DHS was the first federal agency to debut a battery-electric vehicle (BEV) fitted for performing law enforcement functions.
The DHS charging systems will be deployed in Georgia, Maryland, New Mexico, South Carolina, and 4 locations in Puerto Rico. Because the charging systems are flood-proof to 9.5 feet and wind-rated to 125 mph, and have survived much higher wind speeds in the field, they are particularly well suited to provide disaster preparedness in environments like Puerto Rico. The ARC Mobility trailer is a specialized hydraulic transport system designed to efficiently relocate the charging systems, according to a press release.
DHS' fleet is part of the larger federal fleet, comprised of approximately 657,500 vehicles. Last December, President Joe Biden issued an executive order calling for 100% zero-emission vehicle acquisitions by 2035, including 100% light-duty acquisitions by 2027.
New York City Expands Fleet of EV ARC Charging Systems
New York City placed an order for an additional 71 Beam EV ARC solar-powered electric EV charging systems. This is the seventh order placed by the city, expanding its fleet of sustainable EV ARC EV charging systems to 160. The new units are flood-proof to 9.5 feet, wind-rated to 125 mph and feature an emergency power panel to serve as emergency preparedness equipment for fleet operators and first responders during grid failures and extreme weather events, according to a press release. The systems were purchased using a GSA contract.
“New York City is our largest municipal customer and they continue to lead in sustainable and resilient EV charging infrastructure for their growing fleet of zero-emissions vehicles," Beam Global CEO Desmond Wheatley said. "Their EV ARC systems are rapidly deployed without digging up city streets and parking areas, without expensive upgrades to city electrical circuitry, and without concern for high utility costs, saving on City budgets. New York City recently reached a massive milestone, having already met its 2025 goal of 4,000 EVs in its fleet. As of September 2022, NYC had replaced around 4,050 gas-powered models with EVs and has the largest EV charging network in New York State. Brought into law through the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Climate Act), the state is on a path to achieve its mandated goal of a zero-emission electricity sector by 2040, including 70% renewable energy generation by 2030, and to reach economy wide carbon neutrality by 2050.
U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Working to Build More Sustainable Future
The GSA placed an order for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to receive 140 Beam EV ARC off-grid charging systems. The systems will be deployed across 34 locations in 12 states including Hawaii. The purchase was made by GSA for VA through a GSA contract.
GSA is partnering with Veterans Affairs to build a more sustainable future for its fleet and its facilities across the country, according to a press release. VA’s EV ARC systems support President Biden's executive order, which calls for a zero-emission federal fleet light duty vehicle acquisitions by 2027. The purchase will support VA’s growing fleet of ZEVs that help serve Veterans. The EV
ARC charging systems will be deployed at medical and administrative VA locations in Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Missouri, Nevada, Texas, and Virginia.

TechFlow Order to Provide Hundreds of EV ARC Systems to U.S. Army
TechFlow has selected Beam Global’s sustainable EV ARC charging systems to fulfill its 367-unit award from the U.S. Army Material Command. The EV ARC charging systems will be deployed for the U.S. Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) at 50 locations in 28 states and Puerto Rico, according to a press release. The award was made in support of President Biden's executive order to electrify the federal fleet.
