Rubicon has entered into a three-year smart city partnership with the City of Scranton, Pennsylvania to enhance its refuse services, according to a press release.

Rubicon SmartCity will help Scranton with its goal of digitizing operations, gathering and analyzing real-time data to optimize its recurring waste and recycling routes. The city has nearly 80,000 residents, and its fleet provides residential waste collection services for roughly 26,000 locations.

The Rubicon SmartCity manager portal will collect data and analytics, providing the city with route updates, daily reporting, and operational insights, leading to more efficient operations, improved service for citizens, and cost savings.

“Rubicon’s Smart City technology will drive meaningful progress within Scranton’s public works operations,” said Paige Cognetti, mayor of Scranton.
