Verizon Telematics has become the largest provider of built-in telematics and mobile applications for commercial vehicles and has moved closer to rebranding its product offerings for its customers, CEO Andrés Irlando told an audience gathered at the annual Latitude conference.
Latitude was created in 2011 to help Telogis customers develop mobile strategies for improving their business. During the 2017 edition of the annual conference, customers listened in on panels about operational efficiency, mobile resource management, and integration strategies. Commercial and fleet customers who purchase a Ford vehicle with SYNC Connect will be able to access Telogis telematics services through the vehicle, the telematics vendor announced at its Latitude conference.
Launching in May, Telogis Spotlight will be a free for fleet managers, supervisors, and company executives.
This partnership, along with a factory solution from Telogis and GM’s Commercial Link, allows GM fleet customers to select a telematics system similar to choosing vehicle options.
John Deere Construction equipment's built-in connectivity, combined with the Telogis Mobile Resource Management software platform, enables customers to access a richer, proprietary data set that will help eliminate manual data entry and generate deeper operational insights.
Using General Motors’ OnStar hardware, Spireon will offer a customized version of its FleetLocate fleet management system to GM fleet customers starting in May 2017.
Mack Trucks has launched Over The Air, which lets customers update software wirelessly to minimize scheduling disruptions and increase efficiency and uptime. The company is also offering a 30-day trial of Mack Fleet Management services with Telogis Fleet.
With regulatory approvals now in the rear-view mirror, Verizon must now decide whether to merge its three telematics companies as separate business units or merge them into Verizon Telematics.
