GammaTech Computer Corp. introduces its latest Durabook rugged notebook, model SA14. The notebook computer offers a choice of Intel Core processors, battery life of up to 11 hours, and various types of wireless connectivity for use in the field. It comes standard with a high-definition 14-inch LCD display.

The 14-inch non-glare HD LCD display has an optional touch panel and a sunlight-readable touch panel with high-brightness enhancement. The SA14 also comes with an integrated carrying handle, nighttime visibility, and stealth modes.

For processors, the notebook computer offers a choice of an Intel Core i5-3360M or Core i7-3520M processor or mobile Intel Express chipsets, including QM77 and HM76. Both provide integrated USB 3.0 protocol on a single-chip architecture. For online connectivity, the notebook comes with a Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi Link 6235 series combo and Intel mini-express Wireless LAN 802.1. Options include GPS support and a WWAN module.

The SA14 comes standard with a 9-cell Lithium Ion Smart Battery pack. When combined with the optional secondary 6-cell Lithium Ion Smart Battery, the unit can function for up to 11 hours.

For data security, the Durabook SA14 features such as TPM 1.2 data security technology, a Kensington lock connector, Computrace asset management and data protection, and a fingerprint scanner. The company also offers a SmartCard reader.

As a rugged notebook, the SA14 meets MIL-STD-810G for shock and drop resistance, which means it can survive falls of at least three feet. Additionally, it meets dust and waterproof resistance level IP43 and its backlit keyboard can be customized with waterproof support options, according to GammaTech.

The GammaTech Durabook SA14 has an MSRP starting at $1,499.
