DAVIS, CA – The Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District (AQMD) approved more than $300,000 in grants for 12 projects, a number of which allow for retrofitting of fleet vehicles, or the purchase of new vehicles, for various municipalities in northern California. The Yolo-Solano AQMD board of directors consists of local elected officials within the municipalities in the district. Out of the $321,200 in funds awarded, $244,000 went to five projects in Solano County, and $77,200 for seven projects in Yolo County.
The Yolo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District will replace a 1985 model-year heavy-duty truck with a new model. The Yolo County Department of Agriculture will receive $13,600 to purchase a diesel emission filter on its weights and measures truck. The City of Winters will receive $8,801 to replace a low-speed electric vehicle with a newer one.
