Yamaha Motor Corp., announced that a new police version of its FJR1300 Sport Touring motorcycle will be available for use by law enforcement and municipal organizations in the U.S. The FJR1300P was developed with feedback from police departments and municipal organizations across Europe.
Like its consumer counterpart, the FJR1300P is powered by a compact and lightweight 1298cc, DOHC, 16-valve liquid-cooled inline four-cylinder engine. Key performance features on the standard base model include a versatile six-speed transmission, Yamaha's exclusive Chip Controlled Throttle ride-by-wire system, traction control, cruise control, D-mode adjustable engine mapping, detachable side cases, shaft drive, and a 6.6-gallon fuel tank.The model offers adjustable rider seat height and handlebar positions and push-button control for an electronically adjustable windscreen.
