Fleet solution company XL Fleet will have two 2021 Plug-in Hybrid Electric GMC Sierra 2500 pickups in the Government Fleet & Expo (GFX) Block Party ride and drive event Nov. 15.
This heavy-duty work truck is available with an XLP plug-in hybrid electric drive system from XL Fleet, providing fleet managers with a means to meet sustainability goals. According to the company, fleet operations can increase their fuel economy up to 50% and reduce CO2 emissions by 33%, without disrupting operations or performance.
XL Fleet’s plug-in hybrid electric drive systems (XLP) can be installed quickly onto factory vehicles. Thanks to a newly designed battery pack mounted beneath the truck, fleets can order their vehicle with bed delete for service body installations.
“Because the XLP system works in parallel with the OEM powertrain, the plug-in hybrid electric Sierra performs as you expect it to, without range concerns and no special maintenance requirements,” the company said in a statement.
Additionally, there will be a third GMC Sierra 2500 PHEV on a lift at the XL Fleet booth on the expo hall for attendees who want a closer look at the chassis.
GFX will be held November 15-17 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.
