U.S. Navy and Marine Corps Unveil 205 EVs
One hundred and four battery-electric vehicles will go to Navy installations, and 101 will go to Marine Corps installations.

The U.S. Navy and Marine Corps hosted a ribbon cutting for 205 new battery-electric vehicles, marking the first phase of their California electric vehicle (EV) fleet. The EV fleet is expected to save 51,000 gallons of unleaded gasoline per year. The initiative includes 92 charging stations to support the new EV fleet, which are expected to cost $3.2 million for installation, electrical upgrades, and hardware over time.
All of the vehicles purchased are 2nd generation Ford Focus EVs. One hundred and four vehicles will go to Navy installations, and 101 will go to Marine Corps installations.
The EV fleet was unveiled in partnership with ChargePoint, which installed a DC Fast Charger at Naval Base San Diego to support the 58 vehicles stationed there.
