SUNNYVALE, CA - Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced it has been awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service for its fleet management solution.

The BPA will be administered by GSA Fleet and gives fleet managers the option to implement Trimble’s vehicle monitoring, maintenance, driver safety, and driver identification products and services.

GSA Fleet provides fleet management services to over 75 participating federal agencies. With over 217,000 vehicles, GSA Fleet manages one of the largest non-tactical federal fleets in the U.S. government.

By offering the Trimble GeoManager solution, GSA Fleet will help agencies reduce operating costs, improve driver safety and comply with Federal directives such as Executive Order 13514 to measure, report and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Using GeoManager, agencies will be better equipped to manage mileage, idle time and fuel usage in an effort to reduce emissions as well as fuel costs.

“Agencies are under increasing pressure to reduce fleet costs and the BPA will make it easier and faster for fleet managers to implement our technology and benefit from improved efficiencies,” said Bryn Fosburgh, vice president of Trimble. “Trimble is committed to helping our Federal Government customers reduce fleet management costs, improve driver safety, assist with compliance and environmental federal directives, and improve the productivity and efficiency of mobile workers.”

Trimble has partnered with Sprint as the wireless carrier for the BPA. Sprint Federal serves over 160 federal agencies and 150 bases worldwide with more than 20 years of experience with the GSA's Federal Technology Service. Together, Sprint and Trimble will provide a national support organization of more than 300 individuals to assist federal customers.
