The Minneapolis-St. Paul Area in Minnesota (known as the Twin Cities) is facing a crime wave. St. Paul Police told Minnesota Public Radio that 70 vehicles have lost catalytic converters since the beginning of December. Among the victims is the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority, which had 11 catalytic converters stolen out of trucks in November and December.

Four of the Housing Authority’s vehicles are still out of service, and the agency is paying $3,500 to $4,00 per truck for repairs. These trucks are used for plowing snow and moving equipment and staff around the city.
