RED BLUFF, CA – Tehama County’s vehicle fleet is going green. Supervisors recently approved the bid specifications for four new hybrid sedans and one new hybrid SUV for the Department of Social Services , according to the Red Bluff Daily News.
Social Services Director Christina Applegate said the sedans would be used by county employees attending various meetings and interviews with clients, while the SUV would be used to transport clients. The proposal was approved by a 4-1 vote this week. Board Chairman Bob Williams voted against the specifications because he said they were specific to a Toyota Prius and there are no Toyota dealers in Tehama County.
