Pitt County, N.C., commissioners approved joining the state’s fleet program to purchase gas for its 325 vehicles on Sept. 14, The Daily Reflector reported.
The county’s long-standing fuel provider was recently acquired, and the county’s fuel contract will be terminated by October, according to the commissioner’s meeting agenda. The county decided to join the state’s WEX fuel card program, which provides a 1.55% rebate per gallon. The card gives drivers access to 8,000 gas stations in North Carolina and offers roadside assistance.
